« Best Sunset Views »

We spent two nights at the hotel and found it very quiet, but all amenities were available to us. Reception was great at helping with transportation, adaptor plugs etc. Breakfast was included and had omelettes, fruit, pastries, sausages, beans etc. Dinners were excellent-fresh and well made. We loved the carrot ginger soup. Excellent views from our balcony (room 104) overlooking the sea. Great sunsets! Loved the Ali Baba lounge. Fitness centre is a treadmill and a few chairs.

« The BEST location if you wanna see STARFISH »

We had an amazing time at Golden Tulip Zanzibar! Their cheapest rooms were beyond any US and EU standards meaning that they super duper clean (the floor was as clean as a mirror, literally), the rooms were super spacious and the staff were so polite and kind that we honestly have no words. Yes, indeed the buffet is small but trust me you gonna complain only if you are fat! If you are a normal person, you will eat a normal portion and everything will be fine! (Sorry fat bros). We arrived there the night before our reservation (calculated wrong the time zones, sorry) and even though they didn't charge us for the extra night or even half the night! The staff was always smiley and super helpful. Jacqueline was one of our favourite ones as she helped us numerous of times with a lot with taxi bookings and any other requirements that we had over time. When the tide is low go for a walk in the coral reef. You will find so many different colours and types of starfishes! Totally astonishing! Don't take any for home as they die, they lose their original colours as they dry and it is also illegal. Thanks

« Beautiful room, beautiful view »

The hotel is just a year old and while it's on a fairly small site, has the feeling of space. The rooms are wonderfully spacious, well appointed and spic and span! The beds are very comfortable and the shower was fabulous! Food - breakfast wasn't great, but the omelettes are good and there's a selection of fruit, juices and a hot buffet. Club sandwich was also good for lunch. There's no bar, which could be a downer for some people if you like a drink with your meal or a sundowner. The hotel is about 15-20 mins by daladala (minibus) from stone town, but the hotel can also.call a cab which is good for those who don't know kiswahili. The hotel staff all very pleasant and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again!

« Comfortable and pleasant hotel »

We stayed only one night. It was only 20 minutes drive from Stone Town, so easy to get a car to restaurants and activities. The staff were helpful. There is a lovely outdoor pool, but the beach is not easily accessible. Breakfast was on the top floor, and it was a nice buffet style breakfast including freshly cooked omelette and fresh juice.
