Golden Tulip West Ende front exterior

Near Eindhoven, the Golden Tulip West Ende is located in an old factory dating back to 1880, which is now refurbished; offering 70 4 star rooms. In Helmond, where the hotel is based, the Golden Tulip is set opposite the castle gardens and close to the Peel National Park. Brasserie Rubenshof has a gorgeous baroque interior that guests can enjoy along with their meals, and the whole hotel benefits from Wi-Fi access.

The rooms of the Golden Tulip West Ende all have Wi-Fi access, TVs, mini-bars and air-conditioning, and some of the 70 guestrooms have views across the market square. There's a large desk for business travellers to use and all of the 4 star rooms, renovated in 2008, are decorated in a smart, neutral colour scheme complimented by floor-to-ceiling windows that create an airy, bright atmosphere.

Arriving at the hotel should be as stress-free as possible, as secured parking is available for guests - so no need to walk long distances with your suitcases. Brasserie Rubenshof serves a French menu and is open all day, offering guests of the 4 star accommodation breakfast, lunch and dinner. For business travellers, the hotel has six meeting rooms, all with Wi-Fi access. Evening drinks can be sipped out on the terrace during the summer, or in the cosy bar when the weather's chilly.

Around Helmond there are plenty of things to do, including cycling and hiking around the countryside and exploring the pretty castle gardens just opposite your 4 star room at the Golden Tulip. There are golf courses and museums in the vicinity, plus theme parks like Beekse Bergen and Efteling for the kids. The city of Eindhoven is also within easy reach.

« Nice dinner before movie »

We just went in for a dinner before heading to the movies which is basically next door. There is a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Friendly staff. Dinner was nice. The gambas can be ordered up to 30 pieces all for the same price. The cheesecake was very tasteful (red fruit). Unfortunately it was a relatively small pieces. In all a very nice experience.

« Good staff, good breakfast, central location »

This hotel is centrally located in Helmond with good parking fascilities. The staff at the front desk is very friendly. The hotel has a touch of rustique elements with a modern items like blue lighting inside the hotel. The terrass of the hotel is very nice. Good bites and the ability to have a good meal. Also here very nice staff. The wifi is good in the hotel, the rooms are clean. The temperature was a bit warm due to the weather and the airco was not working that good. I like some good water pressure in the bathroom and this could be better. The bathroom was well equiped with a modern bath tub and shower.

« Good, but could easily be better! »

The inability to use my credit card for the room deposit made the stay infinitely more difficult. We would have spent more time and money at the hotel's restaurant if that had been different. Heel jammer....

« Central well placed hotel »

We stayed at this hotel as part of a package on a trip to the Andre Rieu Concert in Maastricht. I had looked at pictures on the internet, and the terrace restaurant does look rather more upmarket than it actually is, that said it does what it says on the packet and is very well located. The hotel itself is OK, we were asked on check in if we wanted to upgrade to a 'deluxe' room, which I am very pleased we did as to me it was quite a basic room anyway, so I am not sure what the ordinary rooms were like. It was a good size and there was a bath - plenty of hot water and two single beds. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean -the decor is quite basic nothing to get excited about. All in all it was fine for what we needed just staying for a couple of nights - I would not want any longer there. Breakfast was pretty basic, there were scrambled eggs but they were very tasteless. Coffee was out of a machine and there were only very little cups so to have a big cup of coffee for breakast meant queuing endlessly to use the machine. That said you can cross the canal and there are lots of coffee shops/ bars with outdoor space where you can easily go and get a decent drink.
