Avoid the post-summer blues

Posted on 08/25/2017

Hold on to that holiday feeling a little longer

As the summer comes to a close, isn’t it time to pack away the sunglasses and knuckle down at work again? Not yet! You can hold on to that summer holiday feeling just a little longer. A quick trip to somewhere where it’s still warm, or a city with great beaches may just be the answer. Alternatively, just seek out the places that offer a late dose of carefree summer vibes.

Why not book a weekend away in Porto? Some Portuguese sunshine, an eyeful of the city’s pretty streets and colourful houses, an ice cream and a trip to the beach and you’ll feel like it’s the middle of summer again. Or for the ultimate city beach experience, travel to Rio de Janeiro to enjoy the warm Brazilian winter temperatures. You can still swim or surf in September and enjoy the bustle of Copacabana beach, just next to your Golden Tulip hotel.

But if that’s too far away, why not pop to Paris for a relaxing break? Although the high temperatures of midsummer have passed, there’s still a summery feeling in the air, especially at Plaza Havana, a little slice of Cuba in the French capital. The tranquil courtyard of Café A plays host to a fabulously fun recreation of Havana’s most famous cafes. This pop up runs until 21st September, ensuring an Indian summer in Paris’s 10th arrondissement. The bright colours and authentic Cuban vibe are bound to make you smile.
