« The worst.. »

Far from my first review, the second time around was bad. very bad. The hotel was gloomy. The restaurant served us spoiled rice. The chicken looked recycle. The hotel needs to be renovated from scratch....

Me and my friends went for a 1-night stay at this hotel. We started our journey at 7PM. The road to the hotel is very dark and scary. There were no lights to the entrance of the hotel. It feels like you are going to a haunted place. I recommend not to travel at night. We stayed in their superior rooms and I liked it except their bathroom. The toilet flush is so weak and the shower is too old. But we were lucky to book this hotel because we had free passes to Dreamland Aquapark! Overall, this hotel is okay if you want to see mountain views but I suggest not to visit the hotel at summer time. It's so hot and you'll be lazy to go out and explore the place.

« A fort in no man's land »

Today we at Star Cement hosted Iftar 2017 for our employees. As it is very near to our plant site, this hotel is our first choice. Very calm and good place for organizing a company get together with employees.

« The worst stay ever »

I don't know where to start, honestly. For all of you there, you should all know that photos that you can Google about this hotel are far better than the place really is. Hotel is far away from everything, building is very old, swimming pool dirty, cigarette buds everywhere, staff completely NOT trained about anything, check-in very slow, fridge in the room doesn't work, safety box doesn't work, when you call room service nobody pick up the phone, you have to go around the property to ask if you can get a drink or food etc. Complete disaster. A part from all of this, the worst thing is that employees don't know anything about anything. What ever you ask, no matter who are you talking to, they will tell you, ask in the reception. Than, you go to the reception, and a guy there staring at you cause he doesn't understand english properly. OMG! There was Philippina receptionist who was the only informed person in the hotel. Please note that people are swimming completely dressed!!! In shortses, dresses, long pants....whatever they had on, they just jump into the pool. Disgusting. Level of hygiene is below minimum. I really don't know how this hotel has 4 stars rating. It is faaaaaaar from ME standards for 4*. Guy who had to replace lifeguard for few hours doesn't speak english. He is actually a hotel maintenance guy, which means they let to pool being not covered by a professional for a very long time, which is against UAE law. If something happened, there would be noone to assist. Than - famous Khatt Springs.... you'll go down the hill, maybe around 150 stairs, you'll reach there and they will tell you: Sorry we open at 6pm, but even if you come at 6pm, you will not be able to use the pool cause it is under maintenance. Than you climb up 150 stairs again. The only good thing about this place are waiters who served dinner and breakfast, They were polite, kind and helpful. Food was good, Not too many choices, but was nice and tasty. Also, don't be fooled by informations provided on their web site. You can find there 4 restaurants (on their page): Lobby cafe - yes, they have, but it doesn't work Restaurant with buffet - yes, they have Third restaurant - doesn't exist Pool bar - it is actually a bar with fridge and 2 cans of Coca-Cola inside, and tap beer which doesn't work For those who want to have relaxing weekend, far from everything - FORGET about it. You don't have absolutely anything to do there, swimming pool is OVER crowded with families of 10-15 members each, swimming in their clothes, and sadly, nobody cares about it.

« Decent place »

Rooms are decent with all that you would need in a standard hotel room. The hot pool in the basement is good although the interiors could do with a little refurbishment. The open-air pool is quite small for my taste. Speaking about the Hot water springs : Plain and simple - didnt like it ..didnt do it. It was summer so the water in a normal pool was equally hot..just like the hot springs. Also spotted a few molds and algae growing around the little spring...not pleasing at all. Location wise : It is situated in quite a remote area...so going to the city (places like RAK mall etc ) is a 30-35 mins drive. So if u wish to just stay in the resort and not explore RAK, then this shouldnt be a problem. Will I go there again : Well...not really...would like to explore other options in RAK.
