Visited the Tulip Hotel on Sept 11th till the 13th, booked it a few months before and was slightly concerned as read a few negative reviews, really don't no were they came from as we really did think the hotel was so nice and clean. We arrived at roughly 5-30pm and was seen to by a gorgeous man, lol, resembled Lennox Lewis, spoke perfect English, and took literally 5 mins to give us key, they have a lift so that made life easier to get to room as we dreaded the stairs of most Amsterdam hotels. We stayed in room 234 and it contained 2 single beds, didn't effect us and as hubs quickly stated it gave him a rest from me,lol, don't no whatever he means ,lol. Room was very nice and the bathroom was ultra clean, we had a bath as well as a shower, also included is a safe. We also booked breakfasts and this I recommend fr 2 reasons, firstly breakfast out and about in Amsterdam can be so expensive , last time we came to Amsterdam we worked on 30 euros for us both, wereas in the Tulip it was 6 euros each, with that you get all food that makes up a full English as well as a continental side which included, cold hames, cheeses, salads, boiled eggs, cereals, pasties and fruits, all washed down with coffee, tea, cappuchino, chocolate, orange and multi vitamin juice, way better eating at the Tulip, far better value for your money Would hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and when we come again next year it will be our first choice, especially as its literally a 5 min walk to Central station.
