What to do in Vila Nova de Gaia?

During your stay in Vila Nova de Gaia, an afternoon at the beach will appeal. Between Praia de Lavadores, which is located right near our hotel, Praia de Miramar, and Praia da Madalena, you’re sure to find a little spot of paradise where you can settle on a beach towel. To take in plenty of fresh air stepping out of our hotel close to Douro, you’ll head towards the local natural reserve of the Douro estuary and its lovely Cabedelo beach. Going in the upriver direction to the East, you’ll get back to Cais de Gaia, famed for its Port wine cellars. These unmissable wharfs in Villa Nova de Gaia are also the point of departure for the Gaia cable car, offering an unbeatable view of Porto. After arriving at Jardim do Morro (the end of the line), you’ll be just a short walk from the Serra do Pilar monastery.
