Visiting Vlissingen is a bit like getting lost in a small fishing village with picturesque coastal landscapes and colorful houses. To learn more about its past, visit the Zeeland Maritime Museum, where you’ll learn about Admiral de Ruyter’s life and how the East India Company worked, as well as see temporary exhibits on ships and their cargo. Further to the east, you can visit Fort Rammekens. After serving as a checkpoint for ships entering and leaving Middelburg, it became a fortress. The long sandy beaches are also not to me missed in Vlissingen. You can get there on foot or on horseback, and, once there, you can have a picnic or barbecue. If you prefer to play pirates and captains, you can spend some time at the Het Arsenaal amusement park, before returning to your hotel next to Kon Tiki beach.
From your luxury hotel in Vlissingen, go on an adventure and take a tour of the peninsula. Going up towards Vebenabos, you can stroll on the immense expanses of white sand of the pretty Kon Tiki beach. To the west, you can set sail for the city of Dombourg and its natural history museum: the Terra Maris, dedicated to the natural landscapes and wildlife of the Zeeland region. You can also have fun at Middelburg's Mini Mundi amusement park, were you can spend an unforgettable moment in the midst of replicas of historic monuments built in miniature. If you leave the peninsula from the south, you will find yourself in Terneuzen, an authentic port city located at the mouth of the canal of the same name. Back at your hotel, you can enjoy a good meal at our Golden Tulip restaurant to taste Dutch culinary specialties.
