« super hôtel »

J y ai séjourné 7 nuits avec une amie et nous avons été ravies tant par la propreté , le confort et le style de la chambre que par la gentillesse de tout le personnel. Ceux ci on vraiment facilité notre séjour et nous ont offert un service digne d un 5* . De plus , le petit déjeuner était de qualité . La seule chose est que la piscine n était pas fonctionnel vu sur cet hôtel est récent mais le manager nous a offert l accès a une plage privée avec chauffeur pour nous dédommagé . Merci à toute l équipe , je recommande vivement cet hôtel qui est aussi très bien placé pour visiter la ville .

« Almost amazing... »

The hotel was under a "soft opening" when we stayed. I have many good things to say about this hotel but just as many disappointments. Check in was really slow. We were offered fresh crisp apples while we waited but cold water and a faster check in would have been ideal. We traveled with two teen agers and had 2 adjoining rooms. The rooms were clean and bright but were constantly freezing despite our attempts to shut off the air con.The quilt was not quite big enough for the bed leading to a struggle for covers during the night ( see photo) Extra pillows would have been nice as well. The bathroom was small but offered many free toiletries which we appreciated. The shower was hot and the pressure was amazing! One of the reasons we booked the hotel was for the rooftop pool and fitness facilities that were advertised. We were very, very sad and disappointed to discover upon check in that the pool and sauna were still under construction.The lobby coffee shop is a nice premise but we had to wait 10 minutes for someone to help us because no one is actually standing there waiting to help you. The front desk had to call for someone to assist us with our order. After ordering coffee we waited another 10 minutes for it to be prepared which was annoying. When our drinks arrived we expected them to be served in paper to go cups but were shocked to discover that take away is not available. BYOCM (bring your own coffee mug) if you want to grab coffee on the way out the door. When I tried to take the coffee to my room I was told that the cups had to stay in the coffee shop. The breakfast buffet is worth the money but it could use a few improvements. The selection of western food was mingled well with local flavors. There was a nice variety of pastries,cereal and hot dishes. An omelette station would have been nice. I was able to order an omelette but it did not arrive as expected. I ordered a vegetable omelette but was given cheese. The deli meat and cheese display looked wilted and hard. The deli items should remained covered to avoid drying out and tasting bad. I also noticed that the jars of nuts and dates were not refilled from one day to the next. Some mornings the nuts would be placed on the buffet in a less than half full state. This looks bad and appears un fresh. All buffet items should be freshly re stocked daily - and as needed during the buffet service. Housekeeping staff was super friendly and efficient. I was at times disappointed to return to my room in the late afternoon to find that my room had not been serviced.Some days service came around 5:00pm so I would simply request fresh towels and skip the room refresh. I did use the laundry service. I was told that the items would be returned the following day but was pleasantly surprised to find them hanging in my closet that evening. The parking area is quite spacious and allows easy access to the elevators. The work out rooms were still under construction but a few pieces of equipment were available for use. The mens gym had free weights but the women's gym did not. So I had to borrow from the mens gym which was annoying. All in all this was a great hotel which I will visit again next time we visit Oman.

« Greater value for money and good location »

We wanted a place that is decent and within short driving distance of Matrah and Qurum neighborhoods. This hotel fit the bill. It is relatively new, quite, and ample parking space in the basement. The rooms were spacious and modern with electric sockets that can accommodate international plugs. The only advice is to fix the standing shower as too much water seeps out to the bathroom floor causing minor flooding.

I booked late at night, and find that most hotels haven't even put the booking through but on arrival 20 minutes later receptionist Emmalette, had all of my details ready, payment quickly and I was escorted straight to my room. Loved staying here, everything new, fresh and clean. (Opened in July) Beautiful reception area and easy parking directly below hotel with security entrance at gate. Coffee and tea making facilities, small mini bar good choice. Dinner buffet was nice and staff very accommodating. Maybe offer a breakfast option as when I called I was told I can get breakfast buffet in restaurant I had dinner at previously but would be nice to pay for room service and maybe some hot or cold items for breakfast brought up as I am not really a morning person and dont want to get up early but would prefer to have somethinf in bed ( but just my prefence). Very nice staff will definitely stay here again.

« Good stay, but falling standards »

This was my second stay in this hotel after a near-perfect stay the first time which was about 5 months ago. While negotiating with the Front Office, I mentioned hat I was a frequent stayer and as a courtesy requested them to provide me with complimentary pick up and drop from and to the airport, as was offered to me the previous time. I got a reply saying that either pickup or drop only would be provided and that I had to pay OMR 10 for pick up from the airport if I needed such a service. Although I was taken aback by this, I took it that it was their policy. So far no problem. In the meantime, I had made my own arrangements for pick up from the airport and informed the hotel not to send anyone to pick me up and that I would use only the complimentary drop which was agreed upon. Immediately, I got a reply saying that the complimentary drop offer was withdrawn because "it was made as a special consideration". I got pissed off with this statement. How can you withdraw a promise which was made while I was negotiating the tariff? And look at the tenor and content of the mail. Why don't someone remind the Front Office Manager that they are in hospitality business. Just because I did not use their transport for pick up, how could they go back on what was agreed in writing? An agreement is an agreement, right? I wrote back citing the same and asked them to check with their General Manager. Finally, I got a reply saying that as per his advise, drop in the airport would be offered complimentary. I was almost about to book in another hotel, Haffa House, which was also equally good and was in fact even cheaper than this one. But I was running short of time which was why I decided to stay in this hotel this time. All this left a very bad taste in the mouth, even before I checked in to this hotel. And can you believe that this hotel is still in their soft launch? I had another issue in the hotel. While I was away in the city, someone who had access to my room (probably the janitor, I am not sure), had made some local calls using the phone in my room. At the time of check out, the lady in the reception told me that I had to pay for it ("It is only 300 baiza Sir"). I said that even if it was only one baiza, I would not pay for a call I did not make. I was made to wait for more than 15 minutes as she would not let me go till her boss agreed to the same.To me, it was not a question of money but of principle. Why should I pay for something which I did not use? But more importantly, it is a question of security. If someone could simply come into my room and make a call, what about the safety of my belongings? I told her boss to check the CCTV footage to know the facts. The hotel itself is quite clean. Hot water was not available in the morning even after letting out the water from the tap for quite some time. Would I visit this hotel again? Probably no, after what I underwent. Sadly, I had a totally different positive opinion of this hotel during my previous visit, which just crashed this time. Thankfully, there are other good hotels in the area.
