« Lovely hotel and extremely helpful staff »

Made an excellent choice with this hotel for our Easter break! It was a bit adventurous to drive through the city in what seemed to be the busiest weekend in April but once we got to Le Grand Be we were so delighted! Funny story somehow I forgot to book parking on site for the 3 days we planned to stay and when the receptionist told us that they have no free spaces, we freaked out. But the staff had been so helpful, they immediately took the car keys and told us not to worry as they would find a solution. Luckily my husband spotted a free space on the street and we were able to leave the car very close to the hotel. Le Grand Be has been modernized this year, it is located in the building which used to be the town's administration office and it has an excellent position, close to the port with all the sea views. The room was very clean, with everything you needed and nicely decorated. We travelled with a small dog and they took excellent care of him, had his own bed and toys in the room which I did not expect. The proximity to the city centre with the nice restaurants and the amazing patisseries is a big plus. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a few days in Saint Malo.

« Nice new hotel in center of city »

Modern new hotel built in the old administration office of the city. The rooms are well designed although small. Nice restaurant where we had breakfast. The staff in the restaurant and the hotel were extremely friendly and welcoming. The only observation I would have is that we stayed at a time when we were only one of three sets of persons at the hotel given that the hotel was newly opened and it was low season (rains the week earlier had flooded the bottom level of the hotel and destroyed equipment in the fitness center which was closed). As such, we were in a certain manner the center of attention. Also what I found surprising is that the hotel did not upgrade us to a better room which is my experience in most US hotel chains when there are a lot of rooms available. Perhaps that is a difference in attitude between US hotels and European Hotel chains such as Golden Tulip. In the US, there is an attempt to actively buy goodwill from the customer (the customer might at one point be travelling for pleasure but at a future date could be a business traveler and when there are plenty of rooms why not buy some good will to cement the relationship?)

Un très bel hotel au centre de st malo. Décoration très réussi. Chambre très confortable et fonctionnelle. Beau buffet de petit déjeuner. Equipe gentille , efficace et à l’écoute. Une référence idéale pour un séjour malouin

« Très bel hôtel »

Superbe hôtel intra-muros. Le personnel est accueillant et souriant. Notre chambre était très agréable et propre rien à redire. Possibilité de profiter de l'espace bien être pour 25€ par personne pour une durée de 2h. Petit bémol car la douche à neige était en panne et la porte d'accès du lit zéro gravity ne s'ouvrait pas avec le badge. Dommage de ne pas avoir l'information sur ce problème avant d'avoir réservé cette activité. Heureusement le hammam, sauna, douche sensorielle et lit hydromassant fonctionnaient.

« Un écrin intra-muros »

C'est un écrin tout neuf intra-muros qui accueille merveilleusement bien ses clients avec une décoration très originale et un personnel aux petits soins. Le restaurant offre des menus gastronomiques très abordables et une carte des vins qui résume ce qui se fait de mieux dans les vignobles français. Mention spéciale pour la salade de raie et fenouil et pour le Haut Medoc du Château la Lagune - Mademoiselle L 2014, conseillé à tres juste titre par un sommelier enthousiaste. Un petit bémol toutefois : pas de mini bar dans la chambre et un WiFi très discret, sans doute lié au faible débit internet partout à l'intérieur de la ville fortifiée. Explication acceptable pour le WiFi mais l'absence de réfrigérateur dans les chambres est incompatible avec le nombre d'étoiles accrochées à l'entrée de l'hôtel.
