« Hotel with a view »

I stayed at this hotel for three nights during June, and had a room on the 17th floor. The rooms are large and are styled with a modern touch. The large windows offers a great view, either towards the city, or towards the sea, depending on which side your room is located. Breakfast was served in the dining area at the 20th floor, and contained everything i wanted from a breakfast. Fast internet (wifi) is available for free. The hotel also offers an airport transfer for 25USD per way. The hotel staff was helpful, and was always ready to assist me.

« Great value for money »

Hotels in Dar es Salaam are relatively expensive these days. Hard to find a decent hotel for around $100 down town. Here they found a good balance. Large, modern comfortable rooms with 18th floor views and good service. They economized on the fancy reception and lounges. They focus on what in my view is needed for a good business hotel. Simple bar on the 20th floor for a cappuccino with a view.

« A good hotel in a "Not so good" area »

It's a pleasant surprise. We only stay here one night, on our transit back home after our Safari. we do not have much expectation from Dar es Salaam, and after all, its just another big noisy dusty African city with few sights. However, the German buildings in the cities are interesting, and the 10 cents ferry ride across the harbor is lovely, and well worth to spend an afternoon for. Crime is a problem here, mugging and pick pockets are abundant, Never walk the street at night, Golden Tulip hotel is in the city centre, on the top 8 floors of a skyscraper. The area is no good but the security of the hotel is tight, and you will feel safe here. The view of the lobby balcony offer a great view of the city. The rooms are clean, and the wifi and TV work well, the service is average, the breakfast is also average. it is convenient for changing money, and lots of taxis choice to go to airport or anywhere.it s good to stop over for one night, but for longer stays, the hotels in Oyster bay in the suburbs is a better choice.
