« Best Airport Hotel I've Ever Stayed In! »

The quality of this hotel, including it's amazing staff, could be placed in the city center of the worlds most metropolitan cities. Upon checking in, front desk agent Deobia, greeted us with a big smile and even complimented my tattoos. :) Since we booked with such short notice, it took an extra minute for our booking to enter their system. Deobia took the extra time to introduce us to the hotel and other staff. She even offered us a complimentary upgrade to a king room which we happily excepted. The rooms here are very chic. The wallpaper and finishings felt very clean and modern.l and the bed was so comfortable! Most surprising feature was the alarm on the door reminding you to not forget your room key. (Genius!) We had dinner at the bar where Chiara made us the best Margarita we have had in Europe! So good in fact, we had 4. Boyd (the other bartender) was very accommodating as well and very fun to talk to. He speaks several languages and it was fascinating to watch him communicate with the diverse guests. I would like to thank Nadine (the general manager) for offering us a complimentary beverage at the bar and spending her time talking to us about our vacation. She really seemed happy to chat with us, even though I'm sure she had many things she needed to do. Transportation to and from the airport was very easy and riding the train into Amsterdam city center takes only 15 minutes from the airport. If your ok not staying in the city center, I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Thanks everyone! Darren & George

« Nice hotel on edge of Schiphol airport »

Tulip Inn of the Golden Tulip chain. Easy access to a main highway. Free shuttle bus from airport about 2x per hour. Checkout 1200. Check-in from 1400. Parking however is apparently €17,50 per 24 hrs; advertises electric car charging points. Low rise hotel, comfy rooms, comfy beds with duvets. Lifts. Nice open central lobby. Bar open to 0030. Restaurant meals until 2200. Free coffee/tea from a machine in the lobby but no kettle or minibar/fridge in the rooms. A room safe is provided. Roomy and easy to use shower (I only say this as the week before I'd been in a hotel in Belgium where there was a spacious walk-in shower whose controls were ludicrously out of reach, but it didn't matter in the end as I never did figure out the controls to turn it on ! ) Liquid soap gel bottles were provided in the shower and another by the sink. A buffet breakfast was extra at €12,50 (which annoyed me as I was convinced I booked B&B but I must have overlooked it on the final web search). Did not eat it (it looked fine - usual choices) as I think 12,50€ excessive but as I was leaving anyway I just bought stuff at half the price from the AlbertHeijn supermarket in the airport. Regarding the breakfast, there was a rather strange seat-yourself-at-tables-dotted-around-the-lobby arrangement. As there are no nearby shops, there was a chiller cabinet of beer/drinks/sandwiches/snacks to purchase. A bottle of Heineken was the same price as at the bar. Hotel also advertises bike rental and a fitness centre. No worries, would happily return. It was reasonable for area/price..
