« Beautiful resort »

Lovely resort, lovely staff, will do anything to help you. Booked as part of the Luxury Escape deal and the food was very limited and repetitive. Very relaxing and beautiful views. Would go back again but not for a long stay as there isn't much to do in the area but if you want a quiet Bali stay this is brilliant. The spa service was excellent I would definitely book again.

« “An extraordinary find “ »

The Royal Saranam Tulip hotel is an extraordinary find. A hidden gem nestled in between the mountains, it makes you feel good about life from the moment you walk in. With breathtaking views down into a valley looking over the rice paddies and the greens, it almost feels like it has a climate of its own. We came to this resort using a luxury escapes voucher for a week but quickly decided we needed more time to soak up the ambiance and indulge in the wellness experience that the resort aims to offer. The hotel has the perfect combination of privacy, location, soul, traditional feel with a breathtaking backdrop for the perfect photo album. This is a spectacular retreat and get away to destress and re-invigorate yourself. The hotel is themed mainly around wellness and self-care offering daily meditation, yoga, stretching exercises, visits to the local markets and its surrounds. Relax and recharge in the splendour of this untarnished sanctuary whilst enjoying a cocktail reception with canapés and exquisite food on the terrace below. The hotel is staffed mainly by the locals and is reminiscent of ‘Bali’ from the days gone by. The hotel offers two restaurants, the Cafe Toya with views of the pool surrounded by lush green manicured gardens and the L’atitude restaurant offering a divine 360 degree view of the sun kissed mountains draped with thick clouds. The hotel staff are nothing short of extraordinary, simply willing to please at any given time. The slight language barrier is easily overcome by their generosity and hospitality. Amongst the friends we have made during our dinning experience, we have to make a mention of delightful young Parta, who at a tender age of 22, welcomed us with a heartwarming smile day after day. The lovely young Arik, still in her training, gives the appearance of someone with years of experience in hospitality. The ever so attentive Mardiana, manages the cafe Toya with his efficiency and attention to detail along with his other proficient staff Anik at cafe Toya and Ersa at l’atitude restaurant. The underdogs, Suyadnya and Adi, the most remarkable chefs, who would indeed have earned themselves a Michelin hat for their prose and skill in the kitchen. Tuti, Juni, Sari and Nuri attended to our massages with ease, within a calming and nurturing environment. Our special gratitude to Yuli, staff and office manager for accommodating us with our endless requests time after time. Her and her staff bring a personal touch to the experience at a resort that starts to feel like home by the end of your stay. Other wonderful staff to mention are Augustina, our driver and local guide, our meditation and wellness staff Tagwan and Vina for helping us achieve the mind, body and soul experience and our housekeeping staff who took pride in their job leaving us with towel figurines that made us smile every time we entered our room. During our stay we interacted with Mr Karuna, who we thought to be a fellow guest at the resort and keenly asked if he would take a photo for us, only to find out he was actually the owner of this unique resort away from the hustle and bustle of the ‘touristic Bali’. His vision is to expand on the wellness aspect of this resort with specific focus on health and emotional well being. Accompanied by his well experienced GM Mr Ursklee this resort is likely to flourish in to a haven for those who are looking to revive in tranquil settings of the unspoilt Bali. It goes without saying, the place is a slice of heaven in its blend of simplicity and opulence combined to truly take you away from your everyday.

« Great location but ... »

Stayed here as part of a Luxury Escape package. We booked the 7 nights with breakfast, lunch and dinner included. I would recommend you dont book here for more than 4 night stay. Total relaxation yes but it was very boring after the 4th day. This was also other guests sentiments we talked to. I'll tell you why...Eating the same food over and over, not to mention poor choice of food, for instance you had a separate menu as a Luxury escape customer, very limited (not to mention very annoying) and they often ran out of stuff! Hardly any other people in the resort (felt deserted), and it rained very heavily every afternoon so no swimming. Our room also had a very bad smell occasionally coming from the bathroom drainage as well as a very musty room smell. Another thing to consider, coming off an international flight you are driven to the hotel (ours was very late at night) for another 2 hours on mainly a single tight road ..a bit challenging. Our view from the room was great though, overlooked the rice fields and pool. Staff were very nice especially Vina and the young men servicing at the pool cafe. Also great massages at the temporary spa room. Other than that our stay was very pleasant, would stay here again for a just a very short stay.

« Simply Sensational »

I have just experienced the best holiday in Bali. My husband and I stayed at The Royal Tulip and it was totally rejuvenating. We were transferred from the airport by a very nice Balinese driver and it set they scene for a wonderful few days. Our intention was to attend all yoga and meditation lessons and this we did and Budha our teacher was very patient with us beginners. We loved the "nature walk" he took us on, nibbling on fresh fava beans and Marisa and seeing all he healthy fresh herbs growing naturally. The spa staff were exceptional, Phandi such a gorgeous smile as she took our bookings. My masseuse Juni had wonderful hands, I just kept going back for more. The Javanese scrub was sensational, totally recommend it. You could not but help but be relaxed as you read your book beside the pool surrounded by mountains and rice fields. All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to make you feel "special". I can't wait to book another holiday at The Royal Tulip and I sincerely hope many others do the same, you won't regret it.
