GOLDEN TULIP BECOMES A PREFERRED HOTEL PARTNER OF AKZO NOBEL |

Golden Tulip Hotels, Inns & Resorts and Akzo Nobel intensify their relationship through the signing of a “preferred hotel partner” contract for the Netherlands.Amersfoort (NL)/Lausanne (CH), 17 August 2006 – Golden Tulip Hospitality and Akzo Nobel signed the contract on Monday August 14th at Akzo Nobel’s head office in Arnhem, the Netherlands. The contract signifies an intensified cooperation under which Golden Tulip will offer Akzo Nobel hotel accommodation in over 8 prime cities in the Netherlands, among them the region of Amsterdam, Den Bosch, Leiden and Rotterdam. Furthermore, Golden Tulip will provide special rates for conference and meeting facilities in all its 76 hotels in the Netherlands. Mr. Ronald Baars, Akzo Nobel’s Director of Corporate Purchasing states: “Through the pooling of the purchasing power of our businesses we are actively establishing supply relationships with hotel chains that meet our standards for facilities and services at key locations.
